Regular Season Round 3: Zaragoza - Gran Canaria 88-71

There was a minor upset when Gran Canaria (1-2) was defeated on the road by Zaragoza (1-2) 88-71 on Sunday. Zaragoza looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Canadian-Jamaican point guard Dylan Ennis (187-91, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 4 assists. Argentinian forward Nicolas Brussino (202-93) helped adding 15 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was Georgian Beqa Burjanadze (201-94) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and Italian Amedeo Della-Valle (192-93, college: Ohio St., agency: BeoBasket) scored 13 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gran Canaria's coach Porfirio Fisac rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Zaragoza will face Burgos (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
