Regular Season Round 3: Bonn 2 - Loewen 87-101

There was no surprise when Bonn 2 (2-1) was defeated at home by Hertener Loewen (1-2) 101-87 on Saturday. Hertener Loewen shot 65.5 percent from the field and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. It was a great evening for guard Mathias Perl (188-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 7 assists. Finnish Leevi Erkkila (194-0) helped adding 21 points. Five Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jeremy Lewis (185-86, college: St.Thomas, TX) with 31 points and 5 rebounds and Philipp Gruber (193-96) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Bonn 2's coach let to play eleven players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Hertener Loewen will face Hamm (#13) on the road in the next round. Bonn 2 will play against Dragons Rhoendorf (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
