Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked La ICL Manresa and 11th ranked Unicaja Malaga had identical 1-2 record. But Unicaja Malaga was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Manresa 90-86 on Saturday night. La ICL Manresa outrebounded Unicaja Malaga 34-23 including 22 on the defensive glass. Unicaja Malaga was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Daniel Perez (188-90) fired 13 points and 8 assists for the winners. Belgian-Congolese point guard Jonathan Tabu (189-85) chipped in 17 points. American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) produced 15 points and 6 rebounds and international guard Dario Brizuela (187-94) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Five La ICL Manresa and four Unicaja Malaga players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. La ICL Manresa (2-2) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Valencia and UCAM Murcia. Loser Unicaja Malaga dropped to the fourteenth position with three games lost. La ICL Manresa will face Andorra (#17) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Unicaja Malaga will play against Valencia Basket and hope to win that game.
