Regular Season Round 2: Chelmno - Gniezno 71-67

There was a small surprise when Chelmno defeated at home Gniezno 71-67 on Saturday. Chelmno looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Michal Schreiber (202-81) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Mariusz Dembek (198-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Chelmno's coach Miroslaw Gajewski used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Mateusz Rutkowski (178-93) produced 25 points and 4 assists and Piotr Lesniczak (203-99) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Chelmno will face AWFiS Gdynia on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gniezno will play against Ogniwo Szcz. and hope to win that game.
