Regular Season Round 4: Wusterhausen - Vechta 2 83-69

Undefeated Vechta-2 (1-1) recorded its first loss in Wildau. Visitors were defeated by top-ranked WSG Koenigs (2-0) 83-69. WSG Koenigs forced 25 Vechta-2 turnovers and had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Oliver Mackeldanz (211-90) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Croatian guard Tomislav Gabric (198-91, college: FHSU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four WSG Koenigs players scored in double figures. American forward Marlin Mason (201-93, college: CSU) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and Tim Insinger (209-97) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Vechta-2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. WSG Koenigs moved-up to fourth place in North. Vechta-2 at the other side dropped to the ninth position with one game lost. They share it with Aschersleben. WSG Koenigs will play against Berlin BG 2000 (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vechta-2 will play against Rendsburg (#15) to get more than just one victory in their record.
