Undefeated leader Rytas delivered the fifth consecutive win on Saturday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Siauliai (0-5) 107-80 in Vilnius. The game without a history. Rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Siauliai's 36 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Rytas forced 26 Siauliai turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. International Arnas Butkevicius (197-92) fired 11 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American point guard Demetrius Jackson (186-94, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 14 points. Icelandic point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94, college: Barry) produced 14 points, 6 assists and 5 steals and swingman Martynas Varnas (196-97) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rytas (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Siauliai at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Rytas are looking forward to face Neptunas (#6) in Klaipeda in the next round where they are favorite. Siauliai will play on the road against Lietkabelis (#5) in Panevezys and hopes to get finally their first victory.
