There was a minor upset when higher ranked Valencia Basket (2-3) lost at home to seventeenth ranked Unicaja Malaga (2-3) 71-66 on Sunday. Unicaja Malaga forced 23 Valencia Basket turnovers. American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. International guard Dario Brizuela (187-94) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Montenegrin center Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian forward Nikola Kalinic (202-91) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Valencia Basket. Four Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Unicaja Malaga moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Valencia Basket. Unicaja Malaga will face Gran Canaria (#15) in Las Palmas in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
