Regular Season Round 1: CAB Madeira - Benfica 66-92

Another exciting game was played in Funchal between Benfica and CAB Madeira where Benfica crushed CAB Madeira on the road with 26-point difference 92-66. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Tweety Carter (180-86, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). His fellow American import power forward Cameron Jackson (203-96, college: Wofford) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Benfica players scored in double figures. Benfica's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Norwegian guard Mikkel Kolstad (193-95, college: Nova SE) answered with 26 points and American forward AJ Cheeseman (202-98, college: UMES) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for CAB Madeira. Benfica will play against Imortal in Albufeira in the next round, which may be the game of the day. CAB Madeira will play on the road against Esgueira / Oli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
