Regular Season Round 4: Hitachi SRT - Chiba J. 87-86

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Chiba J. (3-1) in Tokyo on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by tenth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (1-3) 87-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Chiba J.. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) who added 18 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: UConn) responded with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) scored 19 points and 7 assists. Four Chiba J. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hitachi Sunrockers left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Chiba J. at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Hitachi Sunrockers is looking forward to face Shinshu BW (#10) in Nagano in the next round where they are favorite. Chiba J. will play at home against the league's second-placed Tochigi B. (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
