Regular Season Round 4: Grevenbroich - Dorsten 114-110

Very expected game when 10th ranked Dorsten (1-3) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Grevenbroich (2-0) 114-110 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Grevenbroich dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Dorsten's 48. Grevenbroich forced 29 Dorsten turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Dorsten was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard John Murry (192-95, college: Austin Peay) fired a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners (made all of his twelve free throws !!!). Norwegian guard Andrija Blatancic (201-95, college: St.Cloud St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Murry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Mark Gordon (196, college: Keiser) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and center Daniel-Okah Wegener (206-96, college: Hood) added 19 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Grevenbroich and four Dorsten players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Grevenbroich moved-up to fourth place in West. Dorsten lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. Grevenbroich will face Bonn 2 (#8) on the road in the next round. Dorsten will play against Hamm and hope to win that game.
