Regular Season Round 13: Dorados - Mineros 83-85

The most exciting game of round 13 in the LNBP took place in Chihuahua. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placed Dorados (8-5) to first ranked Mineros (10-3) 85-83 on Tuesday evening. Mineros outrebounded Dorados 37-24 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Dorados helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Interperformances) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import forward Mike Bruesewitz (201-90, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 15 points. Dawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American Durrell Summers (196-89, college: Michigan St.) produced 25 points and Argentinian point guard Juan Brussino (185-91) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Four Dorados players scored in double figures. Dorados' coach Gustavo Pacheco tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Mineros have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-3 record. Dorados at the other side keep the third position with five games lost. Mineros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dorados will play again at home against the league's leader Mineros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
