Regular Season Round 2: Gries/Oberhoffen - St-Chamond 101-86

There was a minor upset when Saint Chamond lost to Gries/Oberhoffen in Bischwiller 86-101 on Friday. Gries/Oberhoffen shot 61.8 percent from the field and made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Gries/Oberhoffen had a 23-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Gries/Oberhoffen especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Spanish point guard Josep Franch (193-91) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists to lead the effort and American-Nigerian forward Amanze Egekeze (203-95, college: Belmont) supported him with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Gries/Oberhoffen's coach Ludovic Pouillart used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 22 points by American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado) did not help to save the game for Saint Chamond. Point guard Mathieu Guichard (187-88) added 14 points and 8 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gries/Oberhoffen will meet Aix-Maurienne in the next round where they are favorite. Saint Chamond will play against Poitiers and hope to win that game.
