Regular Season Round 4: Bordeaux - Challans 99-78

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Vendee Challans (1-2) was crushed on the road by fourteenth ranked JSA Bordeaux (1-2) 99-78 on Friday. JSA Bordeaux shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Point guard Gaetan Meyniel (189-0) fired 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Bahamas forward Willis Mackey (203-96, college: UNOH, agency: Duran International) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Five JSA Bordeaux players scored in double figures. American point guard Devon Thomas (183-94, college: Texas Tech) produced 33 points (!!!) (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and swingman Kevin Bichard (196-86) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JSA Bordeaux left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Vendee Challans. JSA Bordeaux will face Vanves (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
