Regular Season Round 3: Koroivos - Panerythraikos 60-70

Not a big story in a game when Koroivos (0-2) was defeated at home by Panerythraikos (2-0) 70-60 on Saturday. Panerythraikos dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Koroivos' 18. They outrebounded Koroivos 40-22 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Panerythraikos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Giannis Athanasoulas (202-87) who scored 13 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Power forward Panagiotis Filippakos (203-94) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Marios Tsellos (190-0) who recorded 16 points and American-Canadian Alexander Kappos (208-97, college: Dalhousie) added 12 points respectively. Four Koroivos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Panerythraikos will meet at home Filippos Veroias (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Koroivos will play against Tritonas S. (#11) in Athens and hopes to get finally their first victory.
