Undefeated FC Barcelona (3-1) recorded its first loss in Vitoria. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Baskonia (4-2) 82-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of FC Barcelona. Italian center Achille Polonara (202-91) notched 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Lithuanian forward Rokas Giedraitis (200-92) supported him with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Baskonia players scored in double figures. Even 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by American center Brandon Davies (208-91, college: BYU, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for FC Barcelona. Greek-American point guard Nick Calathes (197-89, college: Florida) added 9 points and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Joventut and Burgos. FC Barcelona at the other side dropped to the seventh position with one game lost. Baskonia will play against Joventut (#5) in Badalona in the next round. FC Barcelona will play at home against Gipuzkoa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
