The game in Limassol supposed to be also quite interesting. Etha (1-2) played at the court of Apollon (2-1). Apollon smashed Etha 87-57 on Sunday. Apollon dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Etha's 30. They outrebounded Etha 45-31 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Apollon looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Etha's players. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). International forward Rafail Eleftheriou (201-94, college: FPU) accounted for 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Five Apollon players scored in double figures. American guard Chris McNeal (185-97, college: Cincinnati) came up with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Andreas Himonas (183-1, college: Wooster) added 13 points respectively for Etha in the defeat. Etha's coach Hadi Elhajj gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Apollon will meet APOP (#5) in the next round. Etha will play against AEK Larnaca and hope to win that game.
