Regular Season Round 4: Venezia - Broni 87-38

An interesting game for Venezia (4-0) which hosted in Venezia 4th ranked Broni (2-2). Top-ranked Venezia had an easy win 87-38. Venezia dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Broni's 30 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Venezia forced 19 Broni turnovers and outrebounded them 48-26 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Broni's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Martina Bestagno (189-90) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. British-Nigerian forward Temi Fagbenle (193-92, college: USC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Venezia players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Sara Madera (187-0) replied with 10 points and Bosnian-American center Lynetta Kizer (193-90, college: Maryland) added 4 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Broni. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Venezia have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Bologna and Schio. Broni at the other side dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. They share the position with Empoli and San Martino. Venezia is looking forward to face Lucca (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Broni will play against the league's second-placed Schio (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
