The most important game in the last round took place in Nicosia between third ranked AEK Larnaca (2-2) and seventh ranked Etha (2-2) on Friday night. AEK Larnaca was defeated by Etha in a tough game on the road 76-82. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 22-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Trevor Manuel (208-97, college: Olivet) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Eden Ewing (203-97, college: TSU) who added 24 points during the contest. At the losing side Canadian-Nigerian forward Derek Ogbeide (203-97, college: Georgia) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Andreas Sizopoulos (192-83) scored 22 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Etha moved-up to fourth place, which they share with AEK Larnaca and Omonia. Etha is looking forward to face higher ranked Keravnos (#3) in Strovolos in the next round and it may be the game of the week. AEK Larnaca will play at home against APOP and is hoping to win this game.
