Regular Season Round 5: Hotshots - Phoenix 84-91

Very expected game when 10th ranked Hotshots (2-4) lost to fifth ranked Phoenix (3-2) in Pasig City 84-91 on Friday. Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Naturalized Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-91, college: St.Bonaventure) nailed 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and naturalized American forward Jason Perkins (193-92, college: VCSU) accounted for 20 points and 12 rebounds. Naturalized American center Rafi Reavis (203-77, college: Coppin St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Christopher Banchero (186-90, college: Seattle Pacific) added 20 points respectively for Hotshots in the defeat. Four Phoenix and five Hotshots players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Phoenix moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Meralco Bolts and SM Beermen. Hotshots lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Phoenix will meet at home NLEX RW (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hotshots will play against Blackwater Elite and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
