An interesting game was also a 41-point tough home loss of Monthey in a game versus undefeated Geneve (#5) 89-48. Geneve held Monthey to an opponent 22.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 52.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Monthey 49-23 including a 34-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Michel-Ofik Nzege (203-92, college: ECU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. American swingman Timothy Derksen (192-93, college: USF) accounted for 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Geneve players scored in double figures. Geneve's coach Andrej Stimac felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Arthur Edwards (198-92, college: Alabama) came up with 13 points and 4 steals and the other American import guard Chad Timberlake (193-84, college: FDU, agency: BeoBasket) added 10 points respectively for Monthey in the defeat. Geneve will meet at home Boncourt in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Monthey will play against Lugano (#6) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
