Regular Season Round 4: Oberwart - Wels 88-90 OT

Gunners Oberwart (#8) forced overtime, but falled to Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (#2) by two points 88-90 on Saturday night. The game took place in Oberwart. But the guests from Wels were better at the end. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gunners Oberwart won third quarter 24-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Gunners Oberwart used huge pressure winning it 23-22 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 8-10. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Gunners Oberwart turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Raiffeisen Flyers Wels especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovenian guard Jan Razdevsek (191-0) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international center Davor Lamesic (205-83, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American forward Quincy Diggs (198-90, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) replied with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Sebastian Kaeferle (185-96) added 18 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) in the effort for Gunners Oberwart. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-0 record behind leader Klosterneuburg. Gunners Oberwart at the other side dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Raiffeisen Flyers Wels will have a break next round. Gunners Oberwart will play on the road against Gmunden Swans (#3) and hope to win that game.
