Regular Season Round 5: Norrort - Ockelbo 100-66

Taby Basket can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Ockelbo (0-3) 100-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Taby Basket. Ockelbo managed to win third quarter 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Taby Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Ockelbo's 36. Taby Basket forced 19 Ockelbo turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Ockelbo's players. The best player for the winners was guard Hannes Widell (183-94) who scored 32 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Simon Akena (191-0) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Jaylen McManus (201-97, college: Charleston) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and forward Chris Singhateh (196-90, college: Friends) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Taby Basket (1-3) left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. It was Ockelbo's third loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with three games lost. Taby Basket is looking forward to face RIG Mark (#8) in Kinna in the next round. Ockelbo will play on the road against Wetterbygden in Huskvarna and hopes to get finally their first victory.
