Everything could happen in Santander at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Cantbasket and bottom-ranked Valladolid had identical 0-1 record. This time Cantbasket used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Valladolid 78-63 on Saturday night. They outrebounded Valladolid 38-21 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Canadian forward Brian Ofori (198-92, college: Regina) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Point guard Jon Pena (185-97) contributed with 13 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Cantbasket players scored in double figures. Angel Perez (-1) replied with 19 points and 6 steals and Juan Saez (-2) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Valladolid. Valladolid's coach David Ensino let to play ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cantbasket (1-1) left bottom position moving up to fifth place in Group A-B, which they share with Filipenses and Bezana. Newly promoted Valladolid still closes the standings with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
