Regular Season Round 5: Hogsbo - Alvik Basket 100-82

Bottom-ranked Alvik Basket (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 100-82 loss to third ranked Hogsbo (4-1) in Goteborg on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Hogsbo. Alvik Basket managed to win second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Alvik Basket 45-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. Croatian power forward Tony Vitali (203-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and point guard Emil Lundstedt (179-94) chipped in 27 points and 4 steals. Four Hogsbo players scored in double figures. Hogsbo's coach Carl Mattsson used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Jonas Rusom (191-94, college: Hagerstown) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and forward Oscar Jernberg (190-94) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hogsbo. They maintain third place with 4-1 record behind leader IK Eos. Alvik Basket lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Hogsbo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Alvik Basket will play against RIG Mark (#8) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
