Artland Dragons recorded a loss in Quakenbrueck on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Gladiators 87-71. Gladiators outrebounded Artland Dragons 38-24 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Jamaican-Canadian Jermaine Bucknor (201-83, college: Richmond) who scored 18 points and 4 assists. American Daniel Monteroso (191-94, college: West Liberty) chipped in 12 points. American Gerel Simmons (188-93, college: LMU) produced 20 points and 4 assists and Adrian Breitlauch (193-93) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gladiators is looking forward to face Ehingen/Urspringschule in Allmendingen in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Artland Dragons will play on the road against Schwenningen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
