Regular Season Round 5: Politechnika Gd. - Chelmno 75-86

Politechnika Gd. (2-1) recorded its first loss in Gdansk on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Chelmno (3-1) 86-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Politechnika Gd.. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Chelmno looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Krzysztof Kozlowski (198-92) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Daniel Belski (191-86) chipped in 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Blazej Czerniewicz (195-2) produced 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and center Jan Gulczynski (200-1) added 6 points and 15 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chelmno have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Politechnika Gd. at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Chelmno are looking forward to face Koszalin Zak (#5) at home in the next round. Politechnika Gd. will play against Ogniwo Szcz. in Szczecin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
