Bottom-ranked Astana Tigers is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to fourth ranked Kazygurt (3-2) 72-47. Kazygurt held Astana Tigers to an opponent 22.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Strangely Astana Tigers outrebounded Kazygurt 58-45 including a 23-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swingman Irina Ganieva (176-99) stepped up and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Tamara Yagodkina (181-90) chipped in 21 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Dinara Moldakhmetova (177-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Daria Koroleva (180-88) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 22 rebounds. Astana Tigers' coach Alexey Borodin gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Kazygurt moved-up to third place, which they share with Irtysh and MBJSM. Astana Tigers lost their fifth game in a row. Defending champion still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Okzhetpes. Kazygurt will play against Irtysh (#3) in Pavlodar in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Astana Tigers will play on the road against Okzhetpes (#8) in Kokshetay and hope to get finally their first victory.
