It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Alaska Aces. SM Beermen made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Naturalized American guard Alex Cabagnot (183-82, college: Hawaii-Hilo) nailed 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and naturalized Tongan center Moala Tautuaa (200-89, college: Chadron St.) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Vic Manuel (193-87) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Abu-Jahal Tratter (196-93) added 11 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Alaska Aces in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. SM Beermen moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Meralco Bolts and Phoenix. Loser Alaska Aces dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. SM Beermen's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Manila to the arena Meralco Bolts.
