Regular Season Round 6: Zenit-2 - Unics-2 94-55

Bottom-ranked Unics-2 (0-6) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to fourth ranked Zenit-2 (4-2) 94-55. The game was mostly controlled by Zenit-2. Unics-2 was better in third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zenit-2 forced 20 Unics-2 turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Unics-2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for guard Konstantin Shevchuk (192-0, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who led his team to a victory with 28 points. Forward Gennady Denisov (207-0) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Zenit-2's coach Ramunas Cvirka felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Guard Alexey Pavlov (194-1) replied with 16 points and Ivan Samoilenko added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Unics-2. Zenit-2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Unics-2 at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Zenit-2 will have a break next round. Unics-2 will play on the road against Enisey-2 (#10) in Krasnoyarsk and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
