Regular Season Round 7: Koshigaya A. - FE Nagoya 71-88

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Koshigaya A. (5-2) against fourth ranked FE Nagoya (5-2) on Saturday night. Host Koshigaya A. was defeated by FE Nagoya in Tokyo 88-71. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Koshigaya A.. FE Nagoya made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Koshigaya A. 38-22 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Kei Sugimoto (182-92) helped adding 11 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Five FE Nagoya players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Tomoya Hasegawa (185-89) responded with 18 points and American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: App State) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FE Nagoya moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Koshigaya A. FE Nagoya will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Koshigaya A. will play again against the league's second-placed FE Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
