Regular Season Round 6: Herford - Dorsten 94-84

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Herford (3-2) won against at home 11th ranked Dorsten (2-4) 94-84 on Saturday. They outrebounded Dorsten 47-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Ole Wendt (190-92) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Herford players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Mark Gordon (196, college: Keiser) with 41 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Sven-Thomas Morlock (198-95) scored 12 points. Herford moved-up to fifth place in West, which they share with Recklinghausen. Loser Dorsten dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Herford will face Bonn 2 (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Dorsten will play against Leverkusen 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
