Important game to mention about took place in Badalona. Fifth ranked Joventut (5-2) saved a 1-point derby victory at home edging 7th ranked Baskonia (4-3) 83-82 on Saturday evening. They outrebounded Baskonia 41-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Ferran Bassas (181-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87) contributed with 23 points for the winners. American guard Pierria Henry (193-93, college: Charlotte) answered with 24 points and Italian center Achille Polonara (202-91) added 14 points in the effort for Baskonia. Four Baskonia players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Joventut moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Obradoiro. Defending champion Baskonia keeps the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Manresa. Joventut will play against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#16) in Madrid in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Baskonia will play at home against La ICL Manresa (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
