Regular Season Round 4: Partizan NiS - Cedevita Ol. 86-77

There was an upset when higher ranked Slovenian Cedevita Olimpija (3-1) lost to tenth ranked Serbian Partizan NiS (2-2) in Beograd 77-86 on Sunday. Partizan NiS outrebounded Cedevita Olimpija 40-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for American forward Rashawn Thomas (203-94, college: TAMUCC, agency: Wasserman) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Bosnian guard Nemanja Gordic (193-88, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 11 points and 7 assists for the winners. Partizan NiS's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Jaka Blazic (196-90) replied with 24 points and American forward Mikael Hopkins (206-93, college: Georgetown) added 10 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Cedevita Olimpija. Four Partizan NiS and five Cedevita Olimpija players scored in double figures. Partizan NiS moved-up to seventh place. Loser Cedevita Olimpija dropped to the third position with one game lost. Partizan NiS will face higher ranked Igokea (#5) in Aleksandrovac in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cedevita Olimpija will play at home against the league's leader Buducnost having rather not much hope for a victory.
