There was no surprise when 10th ranked Twarde Pierniki (5-6) was outleveled by third ranked Trefl (7-5) in Sopot 96-67 on Monday. Trefl dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Twarde Pierniki's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Twarde Pierniki's players. American guard TJ Haws (193-95, college: BYU, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 4 assists. The former international power forward Pawel Leonczyk (203-86) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Trefl players scored in double figures. American forward Carlton Bragg (208-95, college: N.Mexico, agency: Haylett Sports) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Donovan Jackson (188-96, college: Iowa St.) added 20 points in the effort for Twarde Pierniki. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Trefl went down to sixth position due to points difference. Loser Twarde Pierniki keeps the tenth place with six games lost. Trefl will face league's leader Legia in Warszawa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Twarde Pierniki will play on the road against BM Slam Stal (#4) in Ostrow Wlkp. and hope to win that game.
