Regular Season Round 11: Start - Slask 79-76

Important game to mention about took place in Lublin. Second ranked Start (8-4) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 9th ranked Slask (5-3) 79-76 on Monday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Start made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a great evening for Latvian Martins Laksa (200-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Lester Medford (179-93, college: Baylor) helped adding 8 points and 10 assists. Start's coach David Dedek allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Serbian point guard Strahinja Jovanovic (185-96) responded with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Bosnian-Croatian Ivan Ramljak (203-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Start maintains second place with 8-4 record behind leader Legia. Slask at the other side dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Start will play against MKS DG (#15) in Dabrowa Gornicza in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Slask will play at home against Wilki Morskie (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
