Rather expected game when 5th ranked Dynamo NR (2-2) was crushed on the road by top-ranked UMMC Ekaterinburg (4-0) 92-38 on Tuesday. UMMC Ekaterinburg dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Dynamo NR's 28. UMMC Ekaterinburg forced 22 Dynamo NR turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Dynamo NR's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Bahamas-Bosnian center Jonquel Jones (198-94, college: GWU) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds and international center Mariya Vadeeva (193-98) who added 17 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five UMMC Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. UMMC Ekaterinburg's coach Miguel Mendez felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American power forward Jillian Alleyne (190-94, college: Oregon, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Marina Goldyreva (169-93) scored 9 points. UMMC Ekaterinburg have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 4-0 record behind leader Dynamo K. Loser Dynamo NR dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. UMMC Ekaterinburg will face MBA (#6) in Moscow in the next round. Dynamo NR will play on the road against Enisey Krasnoyarsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
