Regular Season Round 4: Ura Basket - Seagulls 86-102

Bottom-ranked Ura Basket (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 102-86 loss to top-ranked Seagulls (4-0) in Kaarina on Wednesday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game was mostly controlled by Seagulls. Ura Basket managed to win fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Seagulls forced 21 Ura Basket turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kendale McCullum (194-96, college: Lewis, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 assists and the other American import forward Wayne Martin (201-93, college: TSU) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Seagulls players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Kevin Bracy-Davis (201-95, college: Davis & Elkins) responded with 25 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Matti Nuutinen (200-90, agency: Blacktop Management) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Seagulls have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Pyrinto. Loser Ura Basket still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Korihait. Seagulls will meet league's leader Pyrinto in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ura Basket will play against Lahti (#4) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
