There was no surprise when 9th ranked Hokkaido L. (3-7) was defeated on the road by first ranked Tochigi B. (9-1) 85-76 on Wednesday. The former international guard Yusuke Endo (185-89) scored 20 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-90) chipped in 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: UNC) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi B. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Hokkaido L. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. Tochigi B. will face Niigata A. (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hokkaido L. will play against the league's second-placed Chiba J. and hope to win that game.
