Regular Season Round 6: Guifoes - Olivais 65-78

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Guifoes (1-3) were defeated at home by eleventh ranked Olivais (2-3) 78-65 on Wednesday. Olivais looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Guifoes' players. The best player for the winners was swingman Sofia Pinheiro (175-95) who scored 26 points. American guard Kahlia Lawrence (173-96, college: Mercer) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Tylinn Carter (185-95, college: Pepperdine) who recorded 27 points and 9 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Rubin Taneka (178-93, college: FAMU) added 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Defending champion moved-up to ninth place. Guifoes at the other side dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with Natacao. Olivais are looking forward to face league's second-placed Uniao Sportiva in Ponta Delgada in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Guifoes will play at home against Vagos (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
