Regular Season Round 4: Nokia - Kobrat 99-86

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Kobrat (2-2) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Nokia (2-2) 99-86 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Nokia. Kobrat was better in third quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Jeff Garrett (201-94, college: LSUS) fired 28 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Daeshon Francis (193-96, college: UTPB) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Nate Grimes (203-96, college: Fresno St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 22 rebounds and swingman Anthony Gaines-Jr (195-93, college: Louisiana Coll.) added 26 points respectively for lost side. Five Nokia and four Kobrat players scored in double figures. Nokia moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Kobrat. Nokia will face higher ranked KTP Basket (#3) in Kotka in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kobrat will play at home against Kouvot and hope to win that game.
