Regular Season Round 10: Nagoya DD - Shinshu BW 65-61

Very predictable result in Nagoya where third ranked Diamond Dolphins (6-5) defeated 9th ranked Shinshu BW (2-8) 65-61 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Diamond Dolphins dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 22. They outrebounded Shinshu BW 34-21 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: ASU) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Tatsuya Nishiyama (171-88) responded with 26 points and 7 assists and American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Diamond Dolphins maintains third position with 6-5 record having just one point less than leader Tochigi B. Newly promoted Shinshu BW dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face Yokohama BC (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
