Everything went according to plan in San Cristobal where fifth ranked Clarinos (5-2) beat 12th ranked Promete (2-5) 68-56 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was American forward Asia Taylor (188-91, college: Louisville) who scored 21 points and 4 steals. Portuguese-Serbian guard Jovana Nogic (185-97, college: Providence) chipped in 9 points. Clarinos' coach Claudio Garcia used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Maria Barneda (177-98) produced 15 points and power forward Itsaso Conde (185-96) added 10 points respectively for the guests. Clarinos moved-up to fourth place. Loser Promete keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. Clarinos will meet Al-Qazeres (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Promete will play against the league's second-placed Valencia and hope to secure a win.
