Regular Season Round 9: Lucenec - Prievidza 77-71

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Prievidza (3-5) was defeated on the road by second ranked Lucenec (6-2) 77-71. Strangely Prievidza outrebounded Lucenec 41-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. International guard Robert Rozanek (190-96) nailed 18 points and 8 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winning side and American forward James Murray-Boyles (201-97, college: UNCP) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Slovenian guard Miha Vasl (192-92) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Zac Seljaas (201-97, college: BYU) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Prievidza in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Lucenec maintains second place with 6-2 record behind leader Nova Ves. Prievidza at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Lucenec will play against bottom-ranked Inter Bratislava (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Prievidza will have a break next round.
