Very predictable result in Tianjin where leader Flying Leopards (5-0) outscored bottom-ranked Pioneers (0-5) 119-91 on Wednesday. Flying Leopards forced 20 Pioneers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Pioneers' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Flying Leopards made 9 blocks. Pioneers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard O.J. Mayo (193-87, college: USC) who had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. The former international Zhixuan Liu (197-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 assists. Bosnian-Serbian Dejan Todorovic (196-94) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Jin Xin (196-95) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Flying Leopards. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Zhejiang GB. and Jilin NE T. Pioneers lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Flying Leopards will face Monkey Kings (#17) in Jiangsu in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Pioneers will play at home against Long-Lions and look forward to get finally their first victory.
