Regular Season Round 4: Kauhajoki - KTP Basket 122-89

The biggest surprise took place in Kauhajoki where host Kauhajoki (2-2) crushed league's leader KTP Basket (3-1) 122-89 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of KTP Basket. The game without a history. Kauhajoki led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.5 percent from the field. Kauhajoki shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 52.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by KTP Basket's players. Bosnian point guard Bojan Sarcevic (190-88) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 assists for the winners. American TJ Holyfield (203-95, college: Texas Tech) chipped in 26 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Five Kauhajoki players scored in double figures. Kauhajoki's coach Janne Koskimies felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Greg Mangano (208-89, college: Yale) produced a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Joe Burton (203-90, college: Oregon St., agency: GoEmpire Group) added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Kauhajoki moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. KTP Basket at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Lahti. They were replaced at the leadership position by Pyrinto. KTP Basket will play next round against Nokia trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kauhajoki will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Kataja in Joensuu.
