Important game to mention about took place in Madrid. Tenth ranked Cadi La Seu (4-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging higher ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (5-3) 59-56 on Thursday evening. The winners were led by swingman Ariadna Pujol (185-95, college: S.Florida) who scored that evening 10 points and forward Gala Mestres (185-94, college: Mount Royal) supported her with 9 points. Even 15 points by American guard Arica Carter (173-96, college: Louisville) did not help to save the game for ASEFA Estudiantes. Her fellow American import Leslie Knight (184-86, college: Minnesota) added 13 points for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cadi La Seu moved-up to seventh place, which they share with IDK Eustotren. Newly promoted ASEFA Estudiantes keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Gernika. Cadi La Seu will play against higher ranked Argon Uni Girona (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ASEFA Estudiantes will play against IDK Eustotren and hopes to get back on the winning track.
