The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Espoo Team as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Espoo Team smashed 6th ranked HBA-Marsky at home 100-41. The game without a history. Espoo Team led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding HBA-Marsky to just 4 points in second quarter. Espoo Team held HBA-Marsky to an opponent 19.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.0 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded HBA-Marsky 60-31 including a 44-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by HBA-Marsky helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. HBA-Marsky's coach Mirka Dettmann gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Espoo Team have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with PeKa. HBA-Marsky at the other side dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. HBA-Marsky will play next round against ViVe trying to get back on the winning streak. Espoo Team will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Torpan Pojat in Helsinki.
