Regular Season Round 5: Igokea - Partizan NiS 90-84

Rather expected game in Aleksandrovac where 7th ranked Serbian Partizan NiS (2-3) was defeated by fifth ranked Bosnian Igokea (4-1) 90-84 on Saturday. Igokea made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Partizan NiS turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Partizan NiS was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American-Kazakhstan point guard Anthony Clemmons (187-94, college: Iowa, agency: BeoBasket) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners and American power forward Jackie Carmichael (205-90, college: Illinois St.) chipped in 27 points. Bosnian guard Nemanja Gordic (193-88, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 19 points and forward Rade Zagorac (205-95, agency: BeoBasket) scored 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Igokea. Defending Bosnian champion moved-up to third place. Loser Partizan NiS keeps the seventh position with three games lost. Igokea will face league's second-placed Buducnost in Podgorica in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Partizan NiS will play at home against Zadar (#13) and hope to win that game.
