Rather predictable result in Sichuan where eleventh ranked Guangsha Lions (3-3) edged 14th ranked Blue Whales (1-5) 97-96 on Sunday. Guangsha Lions made 29-of-34 free shots (85.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Blue Whales turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Blue Whales were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Jiaren Zhao (201-99) helped adding 18 points and 10 assists (made all of his eight free throws). At the losing side Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) responded with a triple-double by scoring 28 points, 20 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international point guard Shuo Han (196-86) scored 22 points and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Five Guangsha Lions and four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. Blue Whales' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Guangsha Lions moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Shanxi L. Blue Whales lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixteenth position with five games lost. Guangsha Lions will face Aviators (#11) in Shenzhen in the next round. Blue Whales will play at home against Sturgeons (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
