Regular Season Round 6: Kalmar - AIK Basket 115-82

The game between top-ranked Kalmar (5-0) and 8th ranked AIK Basket (1-4) in Kalmar ended with biggest points difference. Kalmar outscored guests from Solna 115-82. The game was mostly controlled by Kalmar. AIK Basket was better in second period 27-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kalmar dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to AIK Basket's 42 and made 20-of-21 charity shots (95.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded AIK Basket 29-16 including 22 on the defensive glass. Kalmar players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Slovenian Jan Tratnik (190-89) who scored 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Tobias Sjoberg (205-97, college: Marist) chipped in 29 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all thirteen shots !!!). Five Kalmar players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Turkish Erkan Inan (195-89) who recorded 19 points and center David Hult (204-89) added 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kalmar have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with IK Eos. AIK Basket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. Kalmar's next round opponent will be Hogsbo (#4) in Goteborg.
